Four Star Ship Breaking Industries Limited was incorporated in 2014 at Sitakund, Chittagong. The primary function of the company is to procure demolished ocean going vessels for breaking and scraping. This business plays a very important role to the economy of the country. As Bangladesh does not have any natural mines, the steel sector depends largely on scraps. The market of MS Rod, MS Angle, and billets are made from ship scraps.

Four Star Ship Breaking Industries Limited is one of the precursors of ship breaking business in Bangladesh. The growth of our business is always upward. The capacity of handling 60,000 tons per year.

FSSBIL is a ship breaking company incorporated on November 11, 2014 as a private limited company under the Company Act,1994. F has been operating since 2013 as partnership business with the present shareholder of the company. The main business of the company is importing scrap vessel for eventual breaking and selling the scrap steel and other accessories in the local market. The company has been initiated by Mr. Golam Rasul & Mr. Nur Uddin both of whom are successful in their business career. The ship yard of FSSBIL is located at North Sonaichori, Sitakund, Chittagong having Leased area of 3.50 acres.

Business Operations

FSSBIL imports scrap vessels from Japan, Singapore, South Korea and other countries through agent. Generally, Agent provides description of the vessel to the company and purchase decision is made considering the hightweight displacement tonnage of the vessels (LTD), cost of the voyage to the beaching site of the ship, general stores and miscellaneous materials that may be available, position of the re-useable marine stores etc. The company procures MS Plate from local ship breakers and sells the same to the local re-rolling mills. Scraps generated from ship breaking are partially consumed by in-house re-rolling unit and the rest is supplied to the local market. Since the product currently has high demand in the market, the company does not need to take any rigorous marketing efforts. FSSBIL generated Scrap Steel, different types of pipe, motor, electric goods, air conditioner, fridge, generator, non-ferrous metals, spare parts furniture, store items and different types of oil through Ship Breaking.
